Seeing the cover of this book during the time I've started my first bargello quilted jacket has captured my imagination. Bargello quilting is amazingly easy, and SO MUCH FUN! It gets the creative juices flowing! I've yet to find this particular volume, but the cover shows a beautiful story to draw me completely in.

This book was developed from the popular Bargello Quilt class taught regularly at Piecemakers Country Store in Costa Mesa, CA. The techniques are not difficult, but I think you'd want some basic quilting experience to feel comfortable with this book. The results are stunning!

This relies heavily on fabric printed in specific colors in order to create an image. When I bought it, I had hoped that I'd be purchasing something that would allow me to express myself, not give me a shopping list of colors I needed to find.

I did enjoy the instruction pages. It helped to clarify the process and help me to see the method behind the madness of Bargello quilts!

I cannot see myself using any of these patterns and I really wish I hadn't preordered it. It's a disappointment, but not a total loss.

This is a very simple concept, and could probably be easily figured out by flipping through the pages. The author does give some very nice examples.

Interesting, however, it's not that suitable for my quilt style. Since I thought it was a mothod for quick Bargello patchwork.

Bits of Bargello offers eight quilt and wall hanging projects blending bits of bargello with traditional machine piecing and applique for maximum impact. Here are projects that use different bargello sequences to offer new ways of displaying this pattern. Quilters - especially those used to bargello - will find this a fine innovative direction.

I have always liked the Bargello pattern when I used it in needlepoint or plastic canvas patterns. I definitely do not like it in a quilt. This book shows picture quilts changed into the Bargello pattern. It makes them hard to look at, in my opinion, and difficult to see what the picture actually is.

The book itself has six pages on basic quilting. The patterns give the finished size and a color photo of the quilt. A materials and cutting list is provided. Assembly instructions follow these lists. There are no graphics to show what the written steps are talking about. There are no quilting suggestions and the only finishing instructions are lay the quilt top on batting and backing, baste and quilt. Not much help for a beginner.

There are six projects and a two photo gallery of other quilts. There is a short bio on the author.

This is not a book I would recommend purchasing unless you are extremely excited about the Bargello look and have enough quilting experience that you don't need finishing suggestions.

I never thought it would be this easy. It took just a little over two days, yes days to complete this lovely quilt. I did Monet and it was so unbelievably easy.
I just love bargello now!

Wow! This book is a genuine treasure. Like the other reviewers, I have a lot of sewing experience but have not done much quilting. I made 'Cascade' and could not believe how easy it was -- and how much fun, too. This book is well laid out which makes it easy to find what you're looking for, and easy to follow the amazingly simple steps.
